You know that flossing your teeth in conjunction with brushing is important, and your Plantation family dentist would agree. But sometimes it’s a pain to do, and people tend to make a lot of excuses for why they aren’t flossing, including that they don’t have enough time to fit it into their busy morning routine.
But a new device in the development stages could make flossing a lot easier and quicker. A Kickstarter campaign has been launched for a device will allows you to floss all of your teeth at the same time.
The device, called UFloss, is a fully customized product. After the patient uses an app to create a digital map of the their mouth, a personalized UFloss is created for each patient using a 3D printer.
This oral hygiene product will be created after users take impressions of their mouth and use an app to upload the impressions. A fully custom-fitted solution will then be sent directly to the user, and refills will be sent automatically each month.
The product is in the development and testing phase. The UFloss team is currently using a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds to bring it to market, All3DP reported.
Calvin Mason, CEO of UFloss, said UFloss will save time while providing optimal cleaning, and will eliminate having to struggle to reach the back of your mouth,”
Blizzident launched a similar 3D flosser last year that has the floss attached to a roll at the front of the mouth piece, eliminating the need to get monthly refills..
Nonetheless, UFloss says its design consists of durable, slow-twitch flexible fibers that are FDA-approved. The actual bite surface was designed to evenly distribute the wearer’s bite force.
The company hopes to raise $100,000 with its Kickstarter campaign.
In the meantime, make sure you are flossing the old-fashioned way. The American Dental Association recommends flossing at least once a day to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
